With the advent of modern retail and the financially affordable cost of construction of new baby travel aids every family can now have a baby pram. Today the choice of design and structure is divers with many different features and accessories to adapt and suit it for any family.
The traditional pram or carriage is more commonly used for newborn babies and the child is placed in a lying position within the pram with the baby facing the parent pushing the pram.
The stroller, push chair or buggy is for slightly older infants of up to three years old and has them in a sitting position usually facing forwards away from the pusher. Stroller designs are varied and now even come in designs for twins and triplets for those parents who have children born together or of similar ages. Strollers have also adapted to the parents needs as well as the child’s. With mothers determined to get fit after having their children, some more modern designs of stroller are made to be more aerodynamic and allow the mother to job with the child giving her the exercise she wants while taking care of her baby.
A newer adaptation is the three in one or travel system. This system consists of a carrycot that is detachable from the wheel system and when it is attached can be switched between a pram position or a stroller position. Some have even adapted so that the carrycot can be used as a car seat when travelling.
